Research

The Pacific Heart, Lung & Blood Institute conducts novel research designed to readily translate into clinical treatment for cancer patients.  Because research into mesothelioma remains largely under-funded, treatment options for mesothelioma patients are limited.  It is PHLBI's goal to alleviate this situation and simultaneously gather data to better understand the nature of mesothelioma and its effects on patients.

Without the support of individuals who share our vision, PHLBI’s unique ability to foster truly novel approaches to treatment would not be possible.  It is the exploration of these promising but yet unproven ideas that forms the foundation of PHLBI’s research program, and what we believe holds the most hope for significant breakthroughs in the treatment of these debilitating diseases. 

When possible, current research is summarized monthly for your review.  Though this research may yet be unpublished, we believe it is necessary for the public to know what we are doing to advance purposeful research.
